From this video I believe that Baca used American literature as a way to express himself, he became a poet/author in order to deliver his message. Also the video got me thinking, how does the title and the picture in the cover tie in to each other?
ReplyDeleteBaca also, in a way, seemed to recognize what his destiny really was. When the reporter asked what writing has done for him he responded, "Its kept me from being in Americas most wanted"
ReplyDeleteI'm also intrigues me why the Baca put a tree on the cover of his book........maybe the tree represents how he rose out of the shrubs; him being the tree and the shrubs representing the crime life or what he emphasizes so much on, the prison life.
